HELM 4 End of Life Notice

Postby daveg » Mon Sep 22, 2014 12:23 pm

Parallels the software vendor for our Helm 4 Windows Hosting Management system has announced that it will reach end of life on December 31, 2014:
We would like to notify you that all versions of Parallels Helm will reach “End of Life” and “End of Support” status, as of December 31, 2014. This means that Parallels will cease further development and security fixes and will no longer be accepting technical support requests related to Helm.
Parallels have also warned users that they will be shutting down their licencing servers on this date which means that the Helm control panel which is used for management will stop working.

Web World will continue to allow customers to host sites via our Helm system however we encourage users to migrate to one of our other hosting platforms as soon as possible. We can offer Cpanel for Linix or WebSitePanel for Windows.

Due to this change we may have a limited ability to assist customers who have unusual or unique support requests or requirements related to Helm.
Thanks

Hello,

We have been in touch with Parallels to ask about the licensing servers. Their licensing team tell me they will remain active post EOL. However they will not be providing any patching or support for Helm after December so we recommend that all customers move to Cpanel as soon as possible. We recommend that any ASP.NET or ASP customers move to WebSitePanel. To do that update please just send us confirmation to support@webworld.ie, we will be emailing all customers about this over the next couple of days and weeks.
Thanks
